Selecta was founded in 1947. At that time Selecta was producing cleaning machines for the flower bulb and fine seed industry.
Selecta products are well-known for its solidity and durability, a renowned brand with a long history in traditional seed cleaning equipment.

PETKUS is one of the largest manufacturers of seed cleaning equipment. With the combination PETKUS and Selecta the offering now receives a new quality seal, with highest precision and quality, craftsmanship and careful handling in processing solutions for fine seed, covering cleaning, calibration, sorting and seed enhancement.

PETKUS Selecta is the business unit for fine seeds within the PETKUS Group, with the new high technology center located in Hem (right in the middle of “Seed Valley”) to achieve our legendary value proposal, “The finest for your Quality Seeds”.
PETKUS Selecta is specialized in manufacturing of high-quality seed cleaning and processing equipment for smaller to large sized commercial seed lots, breeding stations and on laboratory scale. All over the world, the company is renowned for top quality products which are not made in mass production but carefully and precisely built by experts and thus, adapted to the specific demands of the user.

Jan Mourik and two Partners founded Selecta in the Netherlands. His Son Kees joined in 1948 at just 14 years old
1979
Producing equipment for the fine seed industry only
1982
Selecta Machinefabriek moved from Karnemelksluis to its next location at the Wortelmarkt. 3rd Generation Mourik, Ron, starts working in 1989 and the company expands with a new office
2018
Selecta is acquired by PETKUS, creating a PETKUS Group Company specialising in fine seed and precise high quality production
2026
With a new brand strategy, new team members and new managing director Maarten de Haas joining Ron Mourik in Hem, Netherlands
